Phanteks Enthoo Luxe 2 build notes

zbryant91

I got a hold of a luxe 2 and stuffed a lot of water cooling components in it and wanted to share my experience since there are some key dimensions missing on the specs page as far as radiator fitment when maxing out what you can fit.

My build includes: asus rog formula maximus X with an 8700k. EVGA 2080ti xc2. 1 m.2 nvme drive, 2 1tb sata drives. 2 480mm SE ek radiators, 1 360mm XE ek Rad, & 1 360mm SE ek Rad. 14 ek vardar 120mm fans, 1 notcua chromax nf-f12 for rear exhaust (just because it fits), Ek d5 pwm pump (have a dual holder and another pump on the way because the flow rate is visually pretty low unless I crank it up to about 80-100% and then it's louder than the fans, so gonna run a double to lower the speed/noise of both. Added some RGB strips as well to the sides. I wanted to maximize radiators so I could run the fans at very low speeds to keep the noise down without having to worry about temps creeping up. Water temp still gets up to about 40C with fans running around 600rpm. Which is fine by me.

So biggest thing to note is that if you are running 2 480mm rads, they have to be thin rads. The SE rads are as wide as you can go because of the mounting hole locations for the front rad. Also, if you are using 360mm rads in the top and bottom, the front rad has to be slim so you have room for fittings/tubes to pass through. Should be able to see this in the photos. I originally ordered a PE 480 rad for the front but quickly found it does not fit. Also, when installing a 480 in the side location, the fans have to be mounted on the back side. Not enough room to fit a 480 in because the flanges. Could easily fit a 360 slim rad back there because it can slide in.

So hopefully I have explained that well enough and the photos should be help for anyone looking to plan a build in this case. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Wasn't sure if it should be it's own build log or not as I was mostly just trying to let folks know about the limitations I ran into. Guess I can use this to keep some updates going though.

I have made an account just to thank you! This is exactly what I was after!!! I assume the PE and XE rads are to wide to fit in the bottom? i was hoping to put an XE in the bottom with fans under it to raise the rad from the side skirts to save 1/2 mil, but I guess you looked at that and it doesn't work?

Thank you again!

That is correct. There is just enough room for the SE in the bottom. Even if you had it lifted it would still hit the power supply cover area on the other side. It's surprising how much wider the pe and xe rads are compared to the se

wow this thing is a monster, awesome build, and looks like it will run super cool with the capacity of all them radiators and large reservoir.

nice work my friend.

there should also be upgrades in the future to go SLI and fit the 9900K CPU.

i can see and like that you have put a lot of thought and time into this.

Thanks for checking it out. I've looked at getting a 9900k or the ks when it was available. Decided I would just wait until the next round of cpus are released and see how they stack up against the current ryzen lineup and go from there. Don't really want to put a 9900 in this motherboard as I've heard conflicting reviews about overclocking capabilities.

Normally at idle it runs around 30-35C and in game never really gets over 45-50C.

I have this case arriving tomorrow. I picked up a Corsair XR7 480 rad at micro with a pair of XR7 360s. I plan on push pull on the front... so I will probably take those back for some XR7 240/280s. I mean the fans I have move plenty of air and are almost inaudible at 1800 rpm... so I am probably fine with just the single 480, but I like going full bore with surface area.

Guess we will see how it goes. I decided to just go soft tubing this time around... so that will make things a lot quicker/easier.

Added some additional fans on the thick top rad to have push pull. Serves no real tangible difference. Just wanted to fill the space.

Nice build man came across this while Googling how to run 2 PSU's on 1 system I've had a thor 850w explode and now a thermaltake 1200w platinum explode lastnight

Running a crosshair formula lots of fan power and awesome bios rog 3080ti which is normally wrapped in blyski 3090 full coverage waterblocks but now sits in stock setup going to get repaired on my dime since asus just voided my warranty for Appling my own thermal pads and paste. Apparently canada has no right go to repair. LOL surprisingly the scalpers cost 3060 works rather well pretty happy with this case just need to keep a psu longer then 4to6 months

Einige zusätzliche Lüfter auf dem dicken oberen Rad hinzugefügt, um Push-Pull zu haben. Dient keinen wirklich greifbaren Unterschied. Wollte nur den Platz füllen.
