Lag in minecraft on good system?

i am not even worried about the fps the fps is fine but whenever i move around i get lag spikes down to 53 fps then back up to 60 i have turned v sync off and tried it, it was very stuttery and i didn't want to play it. this was never happening before and only recently started happening 

specs

i5 3470

gtx 1060 3g

16gb ram 8gb dedicated to minecraft  i really want to fix this as i play the game a lot

yes, i do i only have 17 mods on and have never had a issue so i assumed something was wrong. and then i tried it with optifine 1.12.2 and it was still doing it render distance at 8-16

I’d disagree you have a strong system. I feel like your processor is holding you back significantly

what you could try is:
Video settings

--performance

----turn on smooth fps, fast render, fast math and smooth world

--other

----set autosave to 3min if it isn't already set to that

it was fine before so i think my cpu is fine

people typically dont tell you this about minecraft. but when you have mods the game literally sucks ram. If you do not have java 64bit (people typically dont have it) try installing it and also allocate more ram to the game in the java config settings or in the minecraft launcher depending on which on you use is different
