iPhone 7 Plus screen repair, glitchy home button

Recommended Posts

Posted · Original PosterOP

I just did a screen repair on an iPhone 7 plus and swapped over the original home button. Everything works on it and it boots up at normal speed, but for some reason touch ID doesn't work. The home button clicks and functions as expected but it wont scan the fingerprints any more even though it's the original button. Any ideas?

You need to have it repaired at an Apple Authorised Service Provider in order to get touch ID to work again. As in, call up Apple service line directly or a published list online to verify that the repair centre is actually an AASP, before you seek their services.

And then they will tell you to buy a whole new phone anyway. Lol

Awareness is key. Never enough, even in the face of futility. Speak the truth as if you may never get to say it again. This world is full of ugly. Change it they say. The only way is to reveal the ugly. To change the truth you must first acknowledge it. Never pretend it isn't there. Never bend the knee.

Please quote my post in your reply, so that I will be notified and can respond to it. Thanks.
