Increasing number of boot cores

Hi,

I have watched a video explaining that you can increase the number of cores used through boot options > advanced options. Is this really safe?

It is more a feature for troubleshooting.

It is probably safe; but since there is a chance it could cause your system to become unstable or cause Windows not to boot it is probably best to leave it as is.

It should use the full amount by default, are you having issues with it miscounting your CPU?

No, just trying to speed up my CPU

Well if you're looking to overclock that's done quite differently.  You can't tell Windows to use more cores than actually exist, or at least, doing so would have no benefit (and likely cause issues)

What are you system specs and what are you trying to do with the PC?

I edit my posts a lot

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?
