X470 MB CPU power connector question.

I have an MSI X470 Gaming Plus MB and it is equipped with both 8pin and 4pin CPU power connectors.  My PSU is semi-modular and only has a single 8pin CPU power cable out of the box.  Is it ok to not supply power to the 4pin CPU connector or should I pickup a modular 8pin to 4+4 cable and power it?

Each 4-pin connector provides around 150 watts, so as long as you don't draw more than what can be provided you will be fine.

 

The real issue is if the motherboard will let you post without all input rails powered.
