External hard drive not recognized !

I have a WD My passport External hard drive. I faced a small issue . Whenever I connect it to my PC through a USB 2.0 port, it is recognized , whereas if I connect it through a USB 3.0 port , it is not recognized. What may be the possible reason for this problem and what should I do to get it resolved ?

That is really weird. Maybe something with your USB ports? Maybe even a drive is bad on them?

Do you have another computer you can try it on? If it works on other machines, then it is something with your USB ports on your computer.
