AOC c24g1 left side of screen is gradually darker/dimmed

Zer0Ace

spacer.pngHi!

I purchased an AOC c24g1 monitor, it appears to be not working correctly though, since I don’t have a lot of knowledge about monitors I was wondering if someone could inform if this could be fixed personally, or it should be returned.

(As you can see the left side is really dark)

I’ve tried taking out the Panel itself, but it is tightly taped(?) in so I didn’t dare to since I was afraid of voiding the return policy or warranty.

thank you for your time reading through this!

If you tried to repair it, then you are fucked. I mean, they WILL think you messed up the monitor. Why would you even do that shit after you purchased and received?? I once had the exact same thing and I returned it the next day, got a refund and bought another and it was fine.

I purchased the monitor from amazon for a cheaper price since it is a refurbished model, amazon didn't indicate the monitor would be defect. I got in touch with amazon and they offered a small cashback or a full refund.

I like being able to fix things myself, if it is within my abilities that is. Monitors on the other hand I have no experience working with whatsoever so I was wondering if this was an easy/hard fix, that's it. If it's not, I'll definitely refund it and buy a new one, though I have two years to decide for that according to the agent I spoke with :)

I can tell you monitors are not easy to open, you can make scratches easily and they are not taped.

I have a AOC and it is a POS... This problem doesn't surprise me, if your under warranty then do a RMA.  You got bad luck that is all, hope the new set won't do this.
