Alternative Solutions for Home-Networking

Hello,

since I recently upgraded my internet connection from 50Mbits to 250Mbits I tried a lot of stuff the get the full value. With a Laptop directly connected to the Router I get around ~220Mbits but when I use regular wifi solutions or a wireless bridge to connect it to my regular PC I cant even exceed 100Mbits. So my question is what other alternatives I have. Im going to try a Powerline adapter in the near future but other than that I dont know of anything else.

Also connection my actual PC directly is not really an option for me.

Can you provide the model number of the wireless router your using, also what wireless adapter your using to connect that your having issues getting full speed.

Moca adapters. The highest end ones can nearly reach Gigabit speeds.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

The Router is a "Speedport W 921V" and the Bridge is a "Telekom Speed Home Bridge"

Your big issue is the Speedport it only supports wireless N 300Mbps that is going to be chopped down quickly just having multiple devices connected. If you are using that for a modem, I would consider an upgrade if possible through your ISP if that isn't possible for some reason. Buy yourself a Wireless AC router and bridge the speedport to the new router.
