can't setup raid, AMD Ryzen 7 3800X, ASUS ROG Strix X570-E, 2 of Samsung 970 PRO Series - 1TB

nh_

I was following this guide and made it to the part where he selects 'create array' in bios, but the option is grayed out for me. I don't even know how to get my OS to see the two m.2 drives. I think i'm way out of my depth on deciding to do this.

Edit: Windows 10 is installed on a 500 GB ssd so I don't want to install it on the raid. I want to set up Raid 0, and I'm unsure what settings I'll need to enter for the cache or w/e once I can create the raid. I don't know what to search for or I'd just google that info.

Is this just to run some benchmarks or something? because software RAID 0 isn't going to be stable and shouldn't be used daily unless you really don't care about that data.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Well games aren't really going to load any faster off of raid 0 SSDs, vs any modern SSD. So I wouldn't really suggest raid for any of that.

You can just make a raid array in windows, you may just need raid drivers from the manufacturer's website.

I would settle for windows recognizing the drives; I can't manage that.

Go to disk management and try to initialize the drives if you can see them.

Otherwise make a Gparted live USB using Rufus and format the drives using that.

That just gives them a bigger volume I think, you can just run crystal disk mark to check the speeds.
