Ftw3 hybrid 2080ti

Hey guys so il be getting some money soon from a broken shoulder claim and I wanted to upgrade from my 2080 to a 2080ti because I just love hardware 

 

I really like the look for the ftw3 hybrid but I wanna get the card with the best chance of holding over 2000 MHz oc,

 

my 2080 msi trio only just does 2040mhz 

 

so so I wanna go with the best choice to get there 

 

is the hybrid ftw3 a good bet for getting 2000mhz oc ? 

 

I will I’ll be selling my 2080 for 450/500 pounds to add to the funds

Or you could fold with it  but in all seriousness, I do not personally feel that the ftw3 hybrid warrNts the extra cost, just get a good air cooler instead

ur basically guaranteed 2k as the temps will be low, even with garbage silicon lottery, the worst A-chip on air i've seen hits 1950, just the lower temps from the AIO should get u to 2k, and ftw3 ultra is binned. Just make sure you don't get the original ftw3 that came out instead of the ultra.

 

iirc jayz got 62C/2180 on his ftw3 ultra, with a hybrid it should drop to 50s, and maybe 15-30mhz more, he hit the jackpot with the lottery on that one.

That is the card I would buy if I get another 2080 ti.

 

My 3 fan FTW3 Ultra runs between 2040 and 2070mhz. When I put a load on it for about the 20 seconds it goes up to 2100mhz but as the temps go past 64c the card downclocks to 2070. As temps go past 74c the card runs at 2040mhz.

 

The overclock I use now is +117 on the core, + 800 on the ram and 124% on the power limit.  Any more creates too much heat and I downclock sooner. Something that would be fixed with a hybrid.

I use the EVGA forums to get that sort of info.

 

62 to 65c under load was stated to be normal but some report high 50s. 

Radiator placement seem to be a critical issue with low and in front the best choice. 

I would have to buy a new case to achieve this.
