Cooling a Ryzen 7 3700x with a Corsair H60

I´m in the process of switching from an I5 7600k to an Ryzen 7 3700x and would like to get some colling advice from you guys. I was running my I5 on an 4.5 GHz overclock and was cooling it with an Corsair H60 AIO Cooler(120mm single fan AIO Cooler) It was absolutley enough for my old I5 but according to the people of the Internet the 3700x runs quite hot when under heavy use.Could the little H60 possibley be up to the task or might the included Wraith cooler be a better choice? Or should I ignore them both and get a decent cooler?

The included Wraith Prism will likely be better but you could always test. At any rate, I doubt you'll have issues. The 3700X is quite efficient so even a simple air cooler like the 212 Evo or included Wraith Prism are more than enough. I've got no idea who told you it's a hot running CPU

The Ryzen 7 3700x is a really power efficient cpu (as all the ryzen 3000 lineup), likely not that far off in terms of power consumption from an overclocked cpu, so you're going to be fine for sure

This, implying that the mentioned solutions are not perfectly adequate. Wraith prism is an excellent cooler, for the price of free. Like really, what is this, intel or something smh (this was intended as a joke just to clarify, either of the options you have are fine as mentioned previously)

Ok thanks that sounds pretty reassuring.

Sounds good. Once I have it installed and tested I´ll post the temps. Maybe it will help someone

Hey Lucavoss,

I'm about to pull the trigger on a 3700x and I have the same question:

Use my existing H60 or the included Wraith cooler? Did you test both, or can you share any update on which one you went with and why?

Thanks!
