Hardware seems more durable.

I'd go hardware since I'd be afraid of the heatshrink peeling especially when the Y-split is made to be spread often with use.

I'd prefer the heat shrink. It definitely doesn't look as nice but I'd prefer not having something that will catch when the cable is being pulled. I have a ModMic one my current headphones and the clips are super annoying. My IEMs also have a shirt clip that gets caught on things sometimes and it's quite annoying.

@dizmo @nick name @sowon @Froody129 What would y'all think about having the base form be the heatshrink, but with an upgrade option with a slight premium? If so, what would you think a fair cost would be for that upgrade?

What exactly is it? Hard to give pricing when all we see is a cord.

It's a headphone cable. These specific ones where made to use headphones with dual 2.5mm connections.

So this is closer to the source output? In that case I would prefer the hardware split. I thought this would be for a DIY project. For sale I would go hardware split. Shrinkwrap on headphone cables would be a turn-off for most people looking at the product imo.

I agree with @Froody129, if this is meant for retail no one's going to want to buy the one with the tape, it'll fail a lot quicker, and your product will lose it's appeal due to poor reviews.
