2TB 860 Evo VS. 2TB Intel 660p

UnbounDxKilleR

Hi All,

Could someone enlighten me as to what SSD would be better I know the M.2 would be faster etc. But I am more accustom to a normal Samsung Evo SSD and haven't heard of the Intel 660p until recently and not sure if it is a good alternative over the very expensive Samsung M.2 SSDs (out of my budget) :(

So my question is which one should I get 2TB 860 Evo (£260) VS. 2TB Intel 660p (£195)

This storage device will ONLY be used for games if that helps.

Thanks in advance.

860 evo is overpriced. The 660P is the better choice.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Intel 660P is faster AND cheaper. So definitely take it over the Samsung 860 EVO.

I just worry as I watched this

And I have seen people saying it gets slower the more it fills up to the point where it is worse than a standard SSD or even HDD in some cases and TBH my knowledge is like 0 when it comes to storage devices sorry!!

I'd say take the 860 Evo.
Better controller, better NAND, better access times.
