Distance from server Rank No1

Distance2distance

Hello people I've got a big dilemma someone here might be able to answer or even put the word out about gaming on PC or console.

I recently got back into gaming and picked up a copy of black ops call of duty the game in terms of speed is good and the game feels good BUT.

Read on.. the Last call of duty I played was modern warfare 2 I was ranked in the top ten in the leaderboards And basically could wipe the floor with anyone on any of the cod titles before the the modern warfare 2, WORLD AT WAR and any multiplayer title from that period I was even in the top 50 on graw 2 on xbox 360 lol.

My question is why does it take me an all mighty effort to get anywhere with multiplayer games today even fortnight Sometimes I'm getting slaughtered by noobs WTF ???.

I have upgraded everything possible to top specs even on consoles aswell. I am thinking it's to do with how far the game server is I mean have they moved them to far for most of us to major capital cities. I live in liverpool I found the nearest call of duty server to be in London.. there is time gap between cities surely somebody playing in London has a major advantage over me with us both playing in a server from London.

I would like to point out that I would activily search for lobbies with clans I could test my skill against and 9 out 10 times I could beat them on older games on games.. today I'm activily avoiding them there is no way I can compete at the top level shoudnt gaming companies be telling us this before we practice and practice playing ????. I mean how hard could be to add more servers. ? Linus theres a billion view YouTube video to be made here ffs ??.

At the top in older COD games, weird flex but ok.

Stuff hasn't really changed technical wise and if you really have reached those ranks you should get into eSports tbh.

These days being at the top of the rankings is worth big bucks.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

I'm just thinking it's a disgrace I mean look at the recommendations from scuff controllers to £1000 monitors faster broadband and everything else. I watched pro players advising YouTube's and just think ffs wtf trust ..me non of it makes any difference people actually watching YouTube vids an buying all the crap it's stupid as fuck. If you don't live within a certain distance from a gaming server say around a 150 mile radius you can't practice for e-sports anyway lol.

It's not ping if that's what you are asking. If ping difference between you and others on server is 50ms or under, you won't notice it. If it's more, then maybe, but unless game has really shitty net code (Bad Company 2 or BF3 style) it isn't breaking factor.

It's not technical hardware either. It's you. This might come as shock, but MW2 is 10 years old game. Even if you have played it all its active life cycle (3-5 years at most), you must have been on break for 5+ years. That's long time if you haven't done any fps gaming during it. It will take time to fine tune reactions and aim back to levels they used to be. Plus map, weapons and tactics knowledge.

Oh, and the fact that you are probably that 5-10 years older than others playing the game. So, in short, you are old, get used to it.

You want me to reply with bullshit so I will as I've noticed on forums you get stupid replies. when I said I win 9 / 10 on older games cods my rate has only dropped to say 7..8/10. I can stay around and get win against anyone. And as the other guy suggested in a room around a table playing cod I would win I'm talking about the distance to server meaning an mini second delay can give you a respawn behind were you could actually be that then puts you in a different time zone in a map. Any kind of delay means you will be always trying to keep up with respwan.

I'm not chatting shit about the game or my style it's much faster than b4.

MY PING IS USUALLY UNDER 50.

I WENT 60 WINS AND 2 DEATHS THE IN MY LAST GAMES .PING FOR THE GAME WAS 178 I'm 27 yrs young.

I was looking for suggestions not arguments.

People who used to play support roles on the game had good games they sometimes won the game. Fuck knows how they do it now.

Only if you can prove that others are closer to the server and getting advantage because of that, then your point becomes valid. And you are still talking about ladder after all. Do you have actual tested knowledge on how spawns work? Like do they get assigned in same order every time or is it random or based on some other factor?

What kind of replies did you expect? Sure I can say that moving next to server and getting Gigabit Fibre will improve your chances. But would you really do that just to grow some electronic ego? I doubt it. So I offered another explanation.

Also, since we are in the age of match making, there's no way of telling if getting lower ping (which is the number representing your distance from server) actually would benefit anything. Sure you get on the server faster, and in class/hero based games get first picks on the pool. But would devs make that so big part of the experience? Or would they randomize it to give anyone a chance? Isn't latter kinda have been main reason why CoD series has been graphically so basic and easy to run? As it is with other titles with actual eSport scene in mind (LOL, Dota2, Overwatch, even Fortnite).

Anyway, if you are adamant, who am I to please your ego. Have a nice day!

That's the usuall shite people come up with that's the reason for me posting. So in older multiplayer theres an obvious line of spawn You spawn behind at the back right or left in formations 123456789 etc. This makes it easier for everyone to read the situation so new guys can learn on mistakes and get kills you now spawn directly according to were the opposing team is. So that if your connection does not respond at the same time as someone elses gives an advantage to the faster connection therefore spawning them in place to read a map and then plan of attack. The other player will not know were 3 or 4 players are and have to make his way through a congestion of opposing players. As for being talented or not it  does not help either player.
