1TB exHD is now 32GB HELP :'(

Hi there,

So, I downloaded windows bootable OS on my 1TB exHD to fix my macbook which turned out that I didn't need it and now my 1TB exHD is a 32GB. I have tried to format it by right clicking and then clicking "Restore Device Defaults" however this does not work.

I'd recommend using SDFormatter to get it back to normal. I always use it on drives after using them as boot drives and haven't come across one it couldn't get back to normal.

run cmd as administrator

diskpart

list disk (check which drive is the external one)

select disk x (number of the external drive)

clean

close the window and format again.

Try running as administrator or use Diskpart as others suggested.

I'm at work, so can't do so.
