Windows to go on ssd

I have bought a m.2 to USB adaptor and I want to create a Win To Go but rufus says "can't mount guid volume" and AOMEI says "Does not support GPT removable devices" , what is the problem? BTW I don t want to create MBR because when I try to update Windows on this ssd it says that "The partition table is not supported".

I'm not even sure that can be done can it?

3600X and RTX 2070 with too many storage drives to count.
