2080TI or wait?

UnbounDxKilleR

Hi All,

I have one more question for you all (Thank you for everyone help so far btw :D) I won't be able to afford to get a 2080TI until roughly April next year (2020), just wondering whether or not it may be worth waiting until Q3 of next year where Nvidia will likely be releasing new GPUs?! (I am not sure on this tbh only looked for a few mins)

I want to be able to run Cyberpunk at 1440p at ultra etc and my 980ti probably won't be able to do that at 100+ fps looking at the recommended thus far :)

By that time, AMD will hopefully have released competition for the high end and 2080 ti prices may have dropped, making it a good time to buy

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I recently went all out and bought a new gaming righ with an RTX 2080.. Not the TI you asked for.. But it was to replace my old Dell that only had a GTX 1070.

The upgrade in performance was not as breath taking as I had imagined, especially not after what I paid to upgrade. I ended up returning the new gaming rig and just kept my old Dell.

Though I have put in an order upgrade to Dell to get my GTX 1070 replaced with an RTX 2070.

I'd wait if I were you, the new RTX cards are quite expensive and you don't get that much performance.. In some games it's enough to put you over the edge into what you want, but the price is just not worth it. Remember what happend to the GTX 1070, 1080 etc when the RTX cards came out.. They dropped a lot in price, I'd suggest waiting!

Both very true and very helpful, I think I will wait and see what happens with the prices as the 2080ti is pushing £1000 compared to the 980ti when I got it was £500 prices of GPUs is crazy!!

Thank you both!

It's hard to tell you to wait because I don't think anyone really knows what is coming out. April is a long ways away.  I would recommend buying the best you can buy now because unless you have something specific in mind to buy, you could be enjoying your new parts.  Something new and shiny will always come out later.

If budgeting is an issue I would look at the 2080 Super instead of the TI.
