Chromax Heatsink Covers

thvSPARK

I recently purchased the Noctua NH-D15 for cooling my Ryzen 3700X, and I love the look of the Chromax heatsink covers.

I was a bit worried about how they would impact thermals, though.

How much (if any) should I expect my CPU temps to go up if I installed the covers?

Should I be worried at all?

Looking them up because I'm not familiar with them they look to cover up the fins absolutely negligibly. I'd expect such a small impact that it won't even be noticeable.

According to Noctua they actually increase performance a tiny little bit which considering they are made of metal and thus offer more surface area and seal the sides of the fins so you direct airflow slightly more towards your rear exhaust fan and less escapes out the sides into your case might actually be justified.
