(AUS) Gaming Build High FPS

A higher capacity psu would be better. I'd suggest 650W or even 750W.

I'd suggest getting a four module memory kit rather than two, two module kits. Two reasons. If you mix up the kits there is a small chance that memory will not operate in dual channel mode. The XMP settings of the two kits may be different making it necessary to manually adjust the settings. (Don't assume that identical memory kits are electrically identical. Memory manufacturers have to electrically match sticks and burn XMP settings specific to those sticks.)

I don't understand choosing the 3800X over the 3700X. In gaming performance the two cpu are very close. If you really want the absolute best gaming performance you should be looking at Intel, not AMD.

In the same vein, best storage performance will be realized with a PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive.

There are RTX 2080 Ti gpu with better performance.

"High FPS" is not something that can be reasonably associated with the chosen monitor.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

the budget is just for the pc. no peripherals or anything

This isn't answering the question.

Knowing what monitor you are using will help determine what would be a good build and not something that is gonna be overkill and a waste of money.

Edit: Never mind. I should've read further first.

ok what will i use for high refresh gaming

As a lot of people have already discussed you would be better off just looking a going with one ultra wide monitor that's 1440p and has a high refresh rate. The ASUS ROG PG35VQ UWQHD is really high spec one although very pricey. Its 1440p, supports HDR and is overclock-able to 200htz. Although keep in mind you can't max out all the settings  at once you have to kinda pick what you want. High refresh for gaming and change to lower refresh and HDR and better colour for a more cinematic experience.

Also, as someone else as said if you want the best gaming experience your better looking at Intel over AMD.

Aside from some relatively minor hardware issues, I was trying to point out that the build seemed a little schizophrenic.

Is the budget AU$3,000 - AU$3,500 without monitor?

Are you planing to get a new monitor? If so, what resolution and refresh rate?

AU$3000-4000 and yes without monitor

and yes i am planning to get a new monitor, 1440p or 1080p resolution, with a 240hz or 144hz refresh rate

You not considering a 34" 3440 x 1440 144Hz ?

In any case it makes more sense to go with a Ryzen build. Not a huge amount of difference at higher resolutions. Yes Intel might be a bit faster, but Ryzen is a lot cheaper so you get more for your money.

Okay, so why not save a lot of cash with an RX 5700 XT? As it can do 1440p high settings gaming just fine for 120+fps.

Also you can get a 500GB SSD, and a 2TB hard drive, and use SSD caching software to get effectively a bigger faster drive.

StoreMI comes with Ryzen CPUs now.

@Okers

You are going to get different opinions with a budget like this. As for the cpu most people will suggest Ryzen for the price/performance you get.

With the gpu you need to decide if you are happy with a mid range one like the 5700 XT/ 2060 Super etc, or if you want to splash out on the fastest card (2080 ti). Both options will do fine for 1440p but of course the 2080 ti would give you more fps, and last longer before you need to upgrade it. Depends on what you want in that regard. If you want to save some cash then an R5 3600 and RX 5700 XT would make a solid system.
