For gaming purposes, the 3900X offers very little over the 3700X (or really even the 3600.)

Strikes me as a silly question. A $4.4K system, (unless it purposely poorly designed), is going to perform as well or better than one costing $2.4K. Don't even have to look at the build lists.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Are you asking if a build with a faster CPU and GPU will perform better than one with slower such parts? If so, the answer is yes. The faster components will be faster.

Should get a dual tower cooler, the neptwin says it has AM4 support, it's going to just be better than a single tower cooler even if it has 2 fans.

Get a case with a mesh front so that you have proper cooling, the H500 comes with 2 giant RGB fans.

and I'd highly suggest saving a lot of money on the GPU, as the RX 5700/5700 XT has like 70-80% of a 2080's performance at half the price, and is perfectly fine for driving high refresh rate 1080p gaming, especially since you're likely to just run competitive low settings anyways.

Your CPU isn't likely to hit 240fps in AAA games, Siege should be fine at around 200fps anyways. I wouldn't worry about G-sync with a 240hz panel anyways.

*and you were missing a motherboard

Agree with @Streetguru but considering the fact that the monitor has 240Hz refresh rate, means you are looking for around 200 fps and thats where the 2080 SUPER comes in. After that even the 2080 ti won't make alot of difference because none of them are capable enough to push 240 fps in all titles as both will be doing somewhere between 180-200 and the 10-15 Avg FPS difference that the 2080 ti makes isn't worth paying the extra money as it will be unnoticeable.

Moving towards something like a 2070 SUPER is a bad idea as you can get similar performance from a less priced 5700 XT.

Also since you are comparing two builds with 2.4k and 4.4k price tags and asking which one is better for gaming, its safe to say that you have the budget to grab anyone of them.

The first build you listed is the one I suggested you (the board is missing from which) and the reason I went for the 2080 SUPER is that you have the budget, you have a 240Hz monitor and not a 144Hz and that the 2080 SUPER will be more powerful at higher resolutions if you decide to upgrade to 1440p or 4k in future.

Ditch the custom loop. It's not really worth it. Requires frequent maintenance and adds many points of failure/leakage. High end air cooling will perform well and be much more reliable and require next to no maintenance.

look up fps with 2080ti in those games and there you go.

i mean, you are running 1080p with a panel with poor-ish colors. you can create a much better experience if you spend some of the budget on a monitor instead.

would suggest getting this any day over the other build. have 2 monitors. 1 for cs;go and the one in this build for everything else.

if you dont have the other monitor, forget about that one.
