How do I know if a MB & RAM will fit with D15s?

Mackerel Ice Cream

How do I check if a cooler will fit with a MB and a selection of RAM? I'm looking at Notcua D15S or D15 [two fans], Tuf x570 Plus, and Corsair Vengeance 32GB RGB. But I haven't decided on a case yet, but Thermaltake View 37 is nice except for the lack of airflow within the front panel.  However cases have cooler clearance sections within the spec list and I did look up Noctua's website and Tuf x570 Plus Wifi is on it's acceptance list but I need to purchase coolers before 2019? What does that mean? Anyway,  how do I know if they will all fit?  I obviously don't want to block a single RAM slot or the GPU.

There's a keep-out-zone around the socket so that motherboard components and coolers don't conflict.

Noctua has a mainboard compatibility tab on their website the outlines any potential conflicts on motherboards. For other coolers, you can look online for examples.

Both coolers fit. The NH-D15 hangs over the ram slots with a cutout for ram up to 64mm. The fan can be raised to accommodate for taller ram as long as the case has enough clearance. The case allows for coolers up to 180mm so the fan can be raised to accommodate ram up to 47mm which is plenty for Vengeance RGB which is 44mm tall.

Older NH-D15 stock don't come with AM4 kits. The ones after 2019 do.

Alternatively, you can order the NH-D15 SE-AM4 which definitely comes with AM4 mounting hardware.

You should ask the seller if the stock has been updated to include AM4 mounting hardware. With proof of purchase, you can still get a free kit from Noctua though.

I didn't know they offer free kits with your proof of your original purchase. I'll make a note of that. I made the mistake of forgetting to quote you original, but after I edit my post, you were updated, right?

What do you think of the thermaltake view 37 with those tiny, pathetic vent holes for the front panel? This seems like a bottleneck to me restricting airflow. I love the design though. Do you have any recommendations for cases similar to this?

That's what I originally thought as well. Huge see-through side and front panel.

Maybe something like the NZXT H510 Elite? Although it's a bit pricey in my opinion, and the cooler clearance is 165mm so you'll be at the limit with the NH-D15. You can solve this by removing the front fan which won't hamper its cooling performance by much.

This is a really good suggestion and it is inline with what I am looking at. I'm also thinking about Lian Li 011. Thank you for the suggestion.

The PC-O11 doesn't have enough clearance for the NH-D15S but can provide better case airflow than the H510 Elite.

If you're going that route, there are still some decent air coolers that can fit in the case.

Where are you shopping / located? Budget?

I'm crestfallen regarding CPU clearance, but the looks are incredible and the topnotch airflow of 011. But the 011D XL is releasing within weeks and that addresses all of the issues I had. I usually shop at Amazon.com which is in the states. Newegg gave me grief with one of my past purchases, but it's nothing compared to the truck load of horror stories I have heard online about Newegg policies. So, I will probably stay away from them. However, Micro Center is not close but very much an option well. Regarding price, I am pretty flexible, but no outlandish cost. Would you recommend anywhere else?

I'm in the states. I prefer Amazon, but I can also do Micro Center. If I have to shop somewhere else for the case, that's fine. Oh man, that last sentence is... special to say the least.

If you end up going with the PC-O11, another good option is the Fuma 2: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/YsHRsY/scythe-fuma-2-5117-cfm-cpu-cooler-scfm-2000

Believe it or not, the View37 actually has pretty good airflow if you mount the fans inside the case rather than between the front panel and the chassis. I did this recently in our Quad-GPU workstations that need the most help they can get.

The temps are okay, except for the one that is still sandwiched up against the other one. I have some plans to incoorporate one hybrid card so all cards can breathe, but that is something for the future.

More photos can be found here, but its a simply front --> back airflow. I've done quite a number of these stations, although I can't give you any relevant temps since these are exclusively science calculating monsters.

I actually went through your signature looking for a build guide on this computer, but I missed it. I went through your OP and I didn't see if this was mentioned. Do you usually keep the cover off of the computer?

Have you ever considered or have you tried comparing the performance of a single, dual, triple, or quad GPU within gaming in twenty nineteen, you know, for science? :D

Yeah sorry it wasn't linked, haven't updated my sig in a while :P

We keep the cover on the computers, its fine and helps with the noise.

These are all linux stations so no real gaming, and modern games aren't coded for multi-gpu and nvidia doesn't even support multi-way SLI anymore, so unfortunately not :P. Only any good for firestrike I suppose.

As a fellow tux follower, sometimes gaming is involved. You know, when you actually have time to fix all of the brokeness when trying to run it. I thought Nvidia still supports SLI. Or I should say, it still exist in some form...
