Allow editing the spoiler header text

Hello there!

 

This is how the Spoiler Header functions nowadays, leading the need to add a title to each spoiler:

Proposition is to allow editing the header text in order to improve visual quality when applicable, eliminating the need for a written title for each spoiler.

 

Useful specially for Original Posts that may benefit from multiple spoilers, this need has rise from our current rework on the Tier Lists where we will be using Spoilers more extensively to allow having far more information in the OP while keeping it organized and pristine to the eyes.

 

For instance, the desired result would be:

I believe this feature could be very useful for our community.

Ah yes, editing the name of spoilers. This used to be possible, actually! Back in 2016, when we still used the very much superior older forum software, this could be done. :) Sadly, we then downgraded to a new mess and incidentally also lost that feature. God I love "updates". It would indeed be fabulous to get this feature back. :)

I'm pretty sure IPS has decided that we don't need this. And that Mortis will say modding editor to allow such is too difficult to impossible.

We (being very liberal with we because it was before my time) modded it in on the old forum software, back in 2014. However, with IPS4 it's almost impossible to change it to allow the title to be edited, because it would involve changing several different bits of code that are really not meant to be changed. Sorry.

Everyone knows by now that spoilers look like that... there is no point for that text on or above them I agree with Luna

That is unfortunate to hear even though understandable.

 

Perhaps Invision isn't aware of the benefits of allowing this functionality, it has been presented on other forums for a reason after all.

 

One can hope they ever consider supporting it but I know it's a slim chance, thank you for taking a look at it!
