Budget Build For iracing and simulator racing

zconflictz7

Hi everyone,

I'm currently in the market for a new PC or semi-used for my racing simulator that I am going to be building this winter/fall. I have put some parts together already but am not sure what GPU to use. My use for the pc will literally only be for simulator racing, triple 144hz, 1080p or 1440p, 1ms monitor setup. I also have an HTC which I am planning to use aswell for this build. I'm trying to keep a budget of around 1500$ CAD.

I will link the parts I have already chosen If you think I have a certain part that is too much for what I'm gonna be using it to let me know.

This is my 3rd pc build now

That doesn't seem like a budget build to me, most of the money has gone into aesthetics over performance.

If you dropped that unnecessary liquid cooler you could get a 3600 or a 3700x instead for the cpu, just use a noctua nh u12 or a Dark Rock 4.

Also that psu seems oddly expensive for the build.

ALSO if you are actually paying that much for a windows licence, get it from microsoft themselves, don't get a stupid OEM licence.

For the gpu, if you shave off some stuff here and there im sure you could get a AMD 5700 to fit in the budget.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

Thanks for the feedback.

Would you say for the PSU go down to a bronze plus?

I assumed the license on pc part picker was a normal one, assumed that from windows it would be the same price. When you say to get from microsoft do you mean directly from their website?

What would be the Nvidia equivalent of the 5700, 2060?

When buying a windows licence for legit, try to avoid OEM licences, and get a real one. Yeah, buying from microsoft themselves would be the safest. OEM is not that bad, but every time you change the motherboard etc you need to call up microsoft and have them reactivate it, while normal licence can just be tied to your microsoft account.

2060 super.

Well, that explains why when I upgraded my current computer I had to call Microsoft. Thanks for giving me this knowledge.

G1 is good, i would keep it, if it is less than 10 years old.

Corsair PSUs are good mostly, avoid the VS stuff, and some other.

@LukeSavenije has made a great tier list of all psus:

This is over budget by 4 bucks and 20 cents. /sarcasm

You didn't have to do this, thank you very much.
