How to fix keyboard : CLOSED

Notfrick

So yesterday I spilt a glass of water on my hyperx alloy fps pro and it was working fine after I cleaned it off but then the space bar stopped working. If I stopped using it now can I still fix my space bar? Someone help me please I am in desperate need of it.

Go back in time and let the keyboard completely dry before using.

Are you saying the space bar is fully dead?

Yeah, you didn’t actually let it dry off did you?

Chances are the switch is dead and you’ll need to replace it.  You have to pop the board open, desolder the bad switch and solder a new one on.

Yeah, half an hour isn’t long enough.

Someone told me that I can potentially revive it if my problem is moisture

Maybe, unplug the board and let it sit for a few days.  Chances are this won’t work though

It could be a dead switch but not because he turned it on while wet. A switch is just metal contacts. It's not going to be damaged by 5v.  Shorts can kill silicon. Water on it's own can kill a switch.
