working on a new build. The case is locked in. I like the way it looks And have wanted it for a while. The build will be used for some gaming and VM’s. Which is why I choose the 6 core cpu, looking at benchmarks it should have around the same single threaded performance as the i5 3570K it’s replacing.  Big thing this build will be running PopOS. I’m think 16 gigs of ram should be enough. I’m unsure on the GPU as it’s stated in review last that a blower style design is best for that case. I’m also unsure on the monitor, I just know I want to upgrade to a ultra wide. All the parts need to come from Amazon US, I have a prime membership.

Any suggestions are welcome. Budget under 2K. I was about to buy a Mac so 2K was what I was looking to spend on that.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

As in I should just use the stock cooler? I really can’t wait too much longer on the build. I have no computer currently.

Sorry, I meant for the GPU. I wouldn't go with an OEM cooler.

From what I've seen the 5700s are fine, it's the 5700XTs that need to be ramped up super loud to avoid overheating.

PCPartPicker does quote the Sapphire Pulse 5700 as available though.

As i stated the reviews of the case suggest blower style. So are OEMs going to release blower style coolers?

First of all I said Amazon only. Because I have prime. Two I said the case was locked in. Third I don’t see any reason to get a 144 hz monitor for a Linux build.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

This looks good other than I want a 21:9 monitor. Also I’m not sure a 31 inch would even fit where I’m putting it. Also keep in mind it’s a Linux build. Not sure if Linux is as forgiving as Windows is having software installed on other disks. Which is why I was looking at a 1 TB SSD for the main drive.

You wouldn't need the more expensive mobo from that list either, the ASRock B450 you picked is fine, VRMs can handle up to a 3700/3800X. BIOS is pretty nice (I have one, built 4 other rigs with it too), not quite as good as the ASUS ones are but that's not worth an extra $30 or so. Question on the RAM though, are you just gonna leave it at the stock rainbow cycle? I don't know if they have RGB control software for Linux.

That was the plan. I wanted a little lighting. What do you think about the monitor I chose? Also would you go the 1 TB ssd route Like I was planing or do the dual drives like what was suggested above? I personally felt that 1 drive could be enough. As im not downloading 500 Gigs worth of steam games.

I have that monitor I think, at least mine looks the same and has the same specs. If you're fine with 60Hz it's an excellent display, colors are great, blacks are incredibly deep, thing works like a charm. As for the SSD, I'd go with a single 1TB for simplicity if you don't need the storage. I'm using a 250GB 960 Evo and 1TB 970 Evo in my rig since I like my games on a different drive to my OS.

your chosed monitor is good too. i'm just give another option, but in my opinion that acer get little cripsy + warm color about brightness.

many people have doing review too, googling it if you want.

about storage, just pick what you need, just give another option too.
