Should I Prefer Flash Drive Or External HDD?

Hi,

I want to store my photos, videos on storage that I can use frequently.

So, for now, I have about 158 GB of photos and videos, and I'm planning to buy a 256 GB Sandisk flash drive, instead of external HDD. Should I? I want storage that can handle accidental drops and knocks.

Id probably get a external ssd. There much faster than a usb stick, while not costing much more, and there more reliable.

Also be sure to keep good backups, there are lots of things that can lead to data loss on portable drives.

I agree with this. External SSD > external HDD > USB-stick, in that specific order.

Ok, if I buy an external HDD, can you guys suggest something about how can I prevent it from getting damaged from accidental knocks? Is there any external HDD cases?

And, what external HDD you guys can suggest from the list below?

WD My Passport (it has password protection but I didn't like its appearance)

Seagate Expansion (some people say it's not a good brand, is it?)

Toshiba Canvio Basic

Apacer AC630 (has a waterproof and dustproof feature)
