1440p on RTX 2070?

At 1440p I don't even hit 144fps maxed out in hard to run titles out like Metro Exodus and Division 2 with a 2080 ti and 8086k. I would go for the 2080 ti if possible.

Thinking about upgrading monitor to 1440, would an rtx 2070 keep up with 144hz on 1440 when paired with a 9900k?

CPU: I9-9900k

Mobo: Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro-Wifi

GPU: MSI RTX 2070 Gamin Z 

Cooling: Cooler Master ML360R AIO

RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 16 GB 3000MHZ (8GB X 2) 

RAM: Corsair Vengence Pro Lighting Enhancement Kit (0GB X 2) 

Storage: Samsung 860 EVO 1TB 

PSU: EVGA SuperNova G2 750 W 80+ Gold Fully Modular

The XX70/ti versions are optimal for 1440p, so have at it; unless you can get the Super/ti version, then I'd go for it at the same price point for roughly 10% more performance and possibly less RTX launch issues due to maturing

Yes obviously, then again you didn't specify your desired graphical settings.

 

If you had "all ultras/max out" in mind then no, the RTX 2070 won't suffice however if you're up to do graphical fine tuning you can gain a lot of performance and have a perfectly suitable experience.
