Don't Panic - F@H Bonus Points Not Assigned

The Folding at Home team is currently in the process of updating the API of the Assignment Servers and people are noticing that the Folding Client and other third-party clients are reporting no Bonus Points for jobs being run.

 

In most cases looking at the logs reveal that the Bonus Points are being awarded. For the odd case where they are not the F@H team will be manually assigning any unrewarded points once all the servers are updated which may take a few weeks.

The issue is, apparently only going to get worse before it gets better. Woke up this morning to 5 of my 6 slots reporting no QRB both in FAHcontrol and HFM.

 

The issue appears to be that the Work Servers in these cases are different han the collection servers and until the last Work server running the old version gets updated this problem will persist.

 

FAHcontrol does not require any update but if you are running HFM.net for collecting stats you will need to install the latest version and manually update the Project Summary file.

 

So now my HFM is working but FAHcontrol will still show incorrect totals until the last Server is updated which may take a few weeks as this is the off season in academia.

Someone knowledgeable when asked for a guess back in mid July as to when this issue would be resolved said here:

These servers are usually run by academics (likely Post Doctoral students or the Professors themselves) with little to no support from the University’s IT department and it is the summer break currently.

 

EoC and the Folding at Home sites are both (mostly) reporting the correct values and we will be using the flat files from Foldingathome for the competition so even if they don’t have it fixed by October we should be OK.

 

It looks like there are only two servers left to be updated, one at Washington University in St. Louis and another at Sloan-Kettering.

@Gorgon Is this why my EoC PPD has been correct, but the F@H Client has been under-reporting my estimated PPD for a while now?

 

EoC has my PPD at ~670k, but the folding client has only been showing ~112k.

Ok this explains a lot.

It would appear things are improving. This morning FAHClient reported the QRB correctly for all the slots I currently have running for the first time in a couple of months. There appears to be only one active Assignment Server at Sloan-Kettering still on the old version (9.2.5).

 

I'm hoping the servers are all updated before the folding month begins.

today i am getting my normal points so now my PPD is 650k-700k instead of 100k. I think it will be updated in time

Mine seems to be reporting correctly today as well.
