My guess is it has something to do with a fault when one server hands off your client to another. Refreshing the connection with a reboot fixes the problem right?

It does, although this morning downloading the new WU was slow. The other day I needed 3 reboots before it picked up a WU.

I haven't changed anything in the folding software. Only thing I did was core voltage +50 instead of +100 and powerlimit down to 108 from 114 (trying to see if these result in less bad WU's which it has done so far.)

It seems to happen overnight, not on daytime. It just disrupts my continues flow towards helping F@H project.

Are you getting beta WUs from the advanced client type, since I have been doing this I have had this error more frequently.

does simply killing the folding client and restarting it fix the problem?

So I thought that was the issue so removed that after 1 day as it seemed my PPD went down..

Maybe I should give it another try

can't relate, sorry ;)

@Stormseeker9 can you shove teamviewer or similar on that machine? helps me a great deal with remote folding management to be able to open a session onto the machine even from my phone

Yeah was thinking to see if I can setup remote access from my laptop when I’m at uni. Would team viewer be sufficient ? As I usually need to reboot my entire machine before it starts working again..

i wonderif someone has blocked the ports in my house.. (old Dutch house divided into 5 seperate appartments) with all our own router but it gets split downstairs at the entrance with a switch of some sort..

i meant if I need to reboot remotely, will I be able to do that and gain access again? Never set up a remote connection before

Yes, remotely rebooting windows can be done from a DOS (command) prompt using the Shutdown command with the /r flag if not from the start menu

Unless someone has put a firewall or router in front of the switch dividing up the service or the ISP is blocking the ports I doubt it. If this were the case it would not work all the time whereas you seem to be having the problem just part of the time.

Right after this I got 14249 and it's still very hot, although a tiny bit little - even at 1.125 voltage it doesn't go over 72C (it said bad state detected so I upped the voltage). Looks stable now, and 20-25% more points :D

ALSO, project search for 13815 pulls up nothing. Which is weird. 14249/14250 are connected to ebola in some way btw.

The project list is here. Clicking on a project will send you to a summary of that project.

hmmmm

The project description appear messed up at this time. Here is the thread when this project was in Beta. It is a very large protein and is part of the Ebola research. There were many problems in Beta/Advanced.

Any good guide to set this up? Will i need teamviewer as well?

When you are via temviewer (or any other remote access solution) you can restart the machine from an administrator command prompt by typing

shutdown /r /t 0

It is easier to just use the reboot command from the start menu but if that isn't available an administrator command prompt can be used to accomplish the same thing.

array energyBuffer crash is caused by unstable GPU core clock OC

found this one out the hard way on my 1080ti system where it would take the first WU, crash out, reset the driver to stock speeds and then continue happily

it is, yes, and that happened to me previously. I've also reduced clocks for a bit and still have pretty high voltage, but for now the 13816, which, I suppose, is of the same family of projects, is working fine on the same card. Granted, at 74 degrees, but it's done through half of it so I believe it's fine. Base reward is a lot better for 14249/14250 tho and so are ppd estimations.

i'm not sure why that wouldn't be available. i've had some updates render the start button useless but i've still been able to right click and shutdown through the superuser menu

you can also run shutdown /r /t 0 /f to do it and force close everything.

13816, i believe, is a work unit that's giving me horrific trouble with my 2080ti and dragging my ppd output down to about 1.1 million on that card. it does not like turing at all.

neither it likes pascal afaik..

I can use the command, can this also be done over distance / remote? Any useful guide how to set up remote access or is it pretty straight forward ?

If I'll buy another GPU will I be able to game on it while folding on the other one?

It always starts this way then you realize your other gpu isn't folding and it feels like a waste. Then you decide "ok I'll just build a separate box and leave this one with both gpus folding 24/7" then you decide to fold on that box overnight then gaming on it just feels like your losing ppd the entire time... or is that just me?

He's referring to if you only had command line access to the machine through an ssh connection or something similar. If you have teamviewer on there you should be fine.
