question: for some reason my web controller isn't working, so how do i check my stats/contribution?

the app on your client.

Most of us use the stats over at Extreme Overclocking. Just search for your folding at home username and bookmark it.

Hahah, I only have a Mobile GTX 1070, but I’ll help in every way I can!

 

My laptop’s getting pretty toasty though, hitting 90C on both CPU and GPU even with my repaste and undervolt of -0.162mV. :P

BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing) is a separate distributed computing project. Folding@Home focuses on medical research, while BOINC looks at a wider range of tasks such as mathematics work, physics, space exploration, and so on.

The LTT community also has separate BOINC teams, and BOINC is not included in the Folding month. (Many people who do BOINC switch over to Folding@Home to help out during folding month, and vice versa)

Open the Advanced Control viewer (right click the F@H icon in the task bar and select Advanced Control). Open the Log tab and see if there are any error codes.

 

I think I've had that issue before. Open GPUZ and check that OpenCL drivers are installed. Should show a checkmark at the bottom of GPUZ next to OpenCL if they're installed. If the OpenCL box is not checked, you might need to reinstall your display drivers.

It will eventually time out and show the slot as failed.  You may have a driver issue. These typically are fixed by using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely remove any remananets of old drivers and then installing the latest driver from the manufacturer.

 

In some cases DDU has to be run from safe mode

It’s good you trying it out in advance of the event. Giving it a shakedown cruise as it were.

 

Sometimes the Folding Client has to be manually configured to find the GPU correctly. Though this typically happens in multi GPU systems I have seen in happen in single systems where the drivers have been installed multiple times
