LTT Official Folding Month 2019!!!

Go to solution Solved by GOTSpectrum,

Alright guys, the time for locking this thread has come, can you all please use the Folding Community Board for all further talk.

Thank you all again for participating in the event.

Once the sheet is cleaned up I will edit this post to add the link to the spreadsheet.

@TVwazhere Can you please lock this thread for me.

I think I might have a problem.

I went out to Home Depot and picked up the parts to replace the old 20A, 240v 2-wire connection for the old electric water heater that is beside my folding rack with a 12/3 to feed a split duplex 15/20A 120V outlet.

Also picked up 10m of SJOO 14/3 and a 15L and P to make a fat extension cord just in case.

I don’t think I want to see my electricity bill in November.

Is there a 12-step program for folding?

Solar panels.  I finally got on my roof for the first part of my install yesterday.  With what you just mentioned (assuming you have the skill set to complete it all correctly), you can self install pretty easy. Most of it is fairly plug and play today…and self installs are less than 1/3 quoted prices most of the time.

Unfortunately I’m in a Condominium and they’re not very forward thinking.  The advantage is I don’t have to shovel snow or cut grass and the expensive bits are shared risk.

If I could get my Vega64 back to the folding easily. But I'm probably out of PSU and PCI-E lanes. Maybe if I upgrade to 3950x and x570 motherboard, I might just pump up the PSU as well... :D

If your condo has a private deck, solar panels make a great sun shade awning.  Most condos have some sort of regulation saying you can't put panels in specific spots due to visuals, but don't prevent it overall.  Check out the regulations, and if you can do it, check out Wholesale Solar.  If not, while a bit more costly, there's always something like Plugged Solar and just setting the panels on your deck for some offset, or occasionally swapping the UPS plug over to a charged up "solar generator" like can be bought at Home Depot and the like now (basically a solar panel on top of batteries in the form factor of a rolling cooler), though the latter would be annoying to continually manage.

After the event i'm selling my 1070ti so will only have the 2070 super so you will overtake me easily.

we are currently getting similar PPD so might take me longer to O/T

A Condominium. We own the interior of the unit, a semi-detached, three bedroom row house, and the Condo Corporation owns the foundation, exterior walls, roof and common ground. We pay a flat rate fee monthly and the Condo contracts out the snow removal, landscaping etc. and maintains a maintenance fund for things like new windows, new roofs, siding etc.

We bought almost 20 years ago intending to buy a house eventually but came to the realization that later when the kids were gone we’d want to downsize so we just stayed.

Some WUs take long time time to finnish, some take around 5 hours with my gtx 1070. If that WU is started today but there is only 4 hours left in the day the points go to next day when the WU is completed. My PPD is between 577k and 836k a day because of this, so its better to look weekly production for average.

There's a lot to be said for well designed apartment complexes (although not suitable for absolutely everybody). Warmer, more energy efficient, better for transportation/city/town planning, less destruction of habitat, less encroachment into productive farmland, better for transport, better for the environment, low maintenance, often great shared facilities.. etc etc

Continental Europe does it the best, and has been for the last century. I wish my country would learn...
