RIP HD7970. Looks like the graphics card died today. (Right monitor is plugged in to the HD7970. Left monitor is plugged in to a different GPU)

Might be a display driver issue but I can't be bothered diagnosing... Back in to the box for the HD7970.

Powering off and ignoring my dead 290X for a day fixed mine, maybe that will work for you too ?

Maybe. It was an old card and I was only using it for Folding month so I could run a few games while my main card was folding, without having to pause it.
I've pulled the card out and since the event is almost over there's not much point spending time trying to fix it.

Woke up to the download bug on 2 machines while 2 more went offline entirely. And they are machines I keep at work so I won't be able to fix them for at least another hour or two.

I don't think I've gone a full weekend without having some trouble. All week It'll stay fine, but once the weekend hits, those machines better watch out because one of them is gonna have a problem.

had like 9 bad work units while I slept last night, woke up disappointed in my cards :/

Apparently boost decided to boost even over the unstable frequency to 2076, while regularly it was at 2050 fine. Idk how to fix that damn stuff. Going to install a different fan for the card that failed, maybe that'll help. But need to get it from the mail first and then devote some time to actually put it in. At least it's quite easy to replace fans on 3-fan Strix cards.

Finaly got the Linux VM up and running. without any overclocks, it seems like it is putting out about 40k ppd more than before.
Don't know how to overclock this thing yet.

But added a CPU slot, for the last week. atm it is putting about 210k PPD additionally acruss the 11 cores... E5-2690v4 (14 core) with 12 cores to VM, and having a spare for the CPU.

Will have to see if the heat is a problem though. but atm it is going quite fine.

How can you get one of those P40’s? Is it like GCP with a free trial ?
