Anyone using unraid docker for folding at home. I first started folding at home last year and there was no docker so i just ran a vm. I tried the new docker and I could see it was running but I could not enter the web ui to enter my user and team.  I'm sure this has been talked about so please let me know of a link to get this working. Windows server is taking up at least 2% so any advise would be appreciated. ha and thanks

I use unRAID.

From what I can tell, the docker container is difficult to get working with GPUs. I just run an Arch Linux VM and pass through a 1060 and 4 cores for folding. I would recommend making a Pop!OS or manjaro or Ubuntu VM and doing something similar.

Thank you to all who folded in October!

@GOTSpectrum SoonTM has started to arrive, spinning up our extra servers now 🎉

Edit:

248 CPU cores so far, another 200 ish I'll get going tonight/tomorrow.

You mad, mad, mad man. I'll be interested to see what that ends up producing.

Now if you could only get work to buy a GPU cluster and need it stress tested for a while ...

Could someone explain to me how I can have 3 digit point updates with a 2070 folding and 2 cloud servers from google (12 cores)..

During the mini Summer folding event I had 8 Nvidia P4's I was using, that server has been returned sadly. P4's are only between GTX 1060 and GTX 1070 folding performance wise, but there was 8 so 🙂.

Won't actually be much, 4-5m PPD at a guess. Need to figure out the cli command to get estimate PPD and/or get remote web control going.

Top 150!

I'm thinking about getting out my old GTX 960. My GTX 1070 PC has a EVGA SuperNOVA G2 750 power supply, so I'm quite sure it could easily handle the extra GTX 960.

I run a intel HEDT, 2080TI and a 2060 on that same PSU. so No problem

Just had Windows restart itself for an update. When it rebooted and I opened F@H client it had added the CPU slot back and reset my identity to Default. No idea why that happened, but if you get any Windows updates make sure you check that Folding@Home is still set to your identity and passkey.

There are a couple things to make sure are correct. The really important one is the passkey. If you don't have the passkey or it is incorrect then you won't be getting any bonus points for the WU you submit, which makes up a big chunk of points.

I do a few other things like mess with the power options, unlock the Nvidia P2 state, monitor the machines using HFM.net to keep an eye on the failed WU count.

I would check all the things to make sure everything is working right.

You have a guide for the HFM.net app? could never get it working and as I am using F@H client + google cloud + in a few days cherry servers would be nice to ttrack it all in one app.

Last time I chcked my Nvidia card ahs been running P2 state all this month. Passkey/identity is correct.

If you use Windows 10 pro you can defer upgrades for a while past the event. That's what I've been doing. Pfft, who needs updates.

I using pro so thats probably why it hasn't done it automatically

I don't have a guide unfortunately. I just googled around and used trial and error when setting mine up. I can tell you one thing that I learned, whenever you make changes to the config file for your folding client to allow remote monitoring, make sure you restart the client after you make the changes. I spent a couple hours troubleshooting one machine one day and the problem was that I just hadn't restarted the client to reload the config file.

If I had to guess, I'd start by looking for either failed WUs where you only got partial credit or the config of the google cloud client. Those are the only reasons I can think that you'd earn in the hundreds of points instead of 0.

Does anyone with the 2080ti's see their estimated PPD spike up this high on certain WU's? I'm occasionally seeing over 3m ePPD and just wondering if that's normal. Seems kinda high.

speaking of windows updates folks, all three of my machines have taken windows updates without a problem and i've started the update process while the machine has been running WU's. no failed WU's, no reset slots. i suspect that may have been a bug where it failed to properly save it's config file before the folding client shut down
