Is Streaming worth it?

I have been looking into streaming on Twitch/Mixer, and was wondering

Is it worth all the troubleshooting, and small monetary investment into a decent webcam?

Also, what results could I get for streaming with this connection?

That's a bad question to be asking anyone other than yourself. No one else can tell you whether you feel it is or isn't worth it.

Just make sure your streaming at 30fps. If you try do it at 60fps it will be very slow and slow up your game.  Also output should be 1080p no matter what your in game resolution is.  :)

Use restream and set your encoder to nvnec setting in obs. I know because i have the same set-up you could do 60fps

That's so much download and so little upload... you might be bandwidth limited there a bit.

QuickSync shouldn't be too bad either... likely a good idea try both and see which one works out the best.

Any ways about it being "worth it" this is likely going to be a hobby and people do hobbies based on the fun of it... if you find it fun sure go ahead... but if you're thinking on any sort of monetary profit that's extremely unlikely.

That's not good enough for 4Kp60, that's good enough for the typical 720p60 or 1080p30 type of stream, but it depends on who you stream with.

The current "best" webcam, short of using any DSLR (which blows all webcams out of the water) would be the Logitech "BRIO ULTRA HD PRO WEBCAM"

The system specs will be irrelevant unless you're streaming at 4K really. You can stream at HD1080 or HT720 using any current model GPU, as you'd most likely have to use software compression anyway as compositing the game with a webcam still requires a decoding and encoding phase, so you're better off with more faster CPU cores for this purpose. You can however use the GPU as the final output compressor anyhow, but the quality is only good on Pascal/Turing hardware, nothing before it. So your hardware is fine.

By worth it, I just mean the hassle of getting started. I would like to stream, since it seems like a fun way to game and have fun

(if there's some money on the side, that wouldn't hurt // that's unlikely i know)

It's a little bit of a hassle to get started if you use OBS. There's plenty of youtube videos from epovox on setup recommendations, as well as many other tutorials on the web. It's a slight learning curve, but isn't too hard really.

It can be no hassle at all if you do it the easy way, something like using Shadowplay to stream of which there are practically no options to configure. Everyone says to use OBS or one of its forks, but if you're just chillin streaming for some friends or something, shadowplay or similar software is just fine, and takes all the hassle out of it.

I've used Shadowplay before and it's fine. I personally use OBS now though because I can't help but mess with settings and stuff.

As for if it's worth it...up to you man. After the initial setup and bit of troubleshooting to get a nice smooth stream, it's nothing but hitting a button from there on out.

If you don't like the idea, then don't do it. If you don't enjoy doing something, you don't inspire viewers to stick on your channel.

~12Mbps Up. 12/8 = 1.500 MBps -  IDK man. You'll prolly have to stream at 360p or less on that upload speed. I'm pretty sure 480p requires 2600KBs

You can stream easily 720p60fps or 1080p60fps at considerable bitrate
