The RAM Sword - A Completely Random Little Build

Guest

Before we begin, I apologize if this does not count as a Build Log. I know it is not a PC, but it is a log of a tech-related idea. If this topic does not apply to the build logs section, please move it to off topic. Thank you =)

I started a thread on the forum awhile back (http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/75423-what-should-i-do-with-this/) asking about how I could utilize some old DDR2 Memory sticks I had lying around. Practically, I should of sold them, as some still use DDR2. But I wanted to do something unique with them..

A lot of people liked the idea of a RAM Sword - I hadn't thought of building it until now, though. Some may find this idea a waste of good components, but I quite like it =)

Started off with a $1 Dollarama Foam Sword for my base:

Measuring the RAM and starting to apply tape:

15 Minutes later of careful taping, we have the finished product! :D

Hope you enjoyed this fairly random build log... if it even is one.

Now don't touch my RAM.

V2.0 get a wooden sword. Glue/epoxy ram on there.

The styrofoam doesn't hold up too well, you actually have to hold it on the blade as well or the whole thing starts to sag. Bad Idea with Styrofoam. And tape.

Now you can market it as a high end, technologically sound sex toy. And technically, it has gold on it. The highest form of pleasure

Thank you all for such amazing feedback. I know the build quality isn't the greatest (holy shit, tape) It wasn't meant to be a long lasting project.. just a little craft :P

That's what I was thinking of doing - But it won't look as cool....
