Thread For Tech Quickie Video Suggestions

I really want a presentation pointer that can work as a mouse for my couch gaming setup.

Ever since I used an Oculus touch controller as a mouse in VR, I've been wanting something similar for outside of VR.

Something that you can point at the screen like a laser pointer to use as a mouse instead of having to hurt my arm using a mouse on the armrest.

It would be more for just general desktop use not actual gaming.

That's what a controller is for with couch gaming setups.

It would however work well for some games like point and click adventure games.

If you guys could try a bunch and find one that's actually good for this, that could be a quick 1-2 minute video that'd be really helpful.

In your DIY SSD video mentioned that the controller determines how fast random read/write speeds are.  A video explaining that would be good.

My suggestion for a Tech Quickie video:

How important is chipset cooling?

Usually the chipset is passively cooled on desktop computers, but I've seen some laptops and even the new iMac Pro without any cooling at all.

I think that's kind of weird and somewhat confusing why you wouldn't cool the chipset.

Some chipsets really just don't need active cooling. I've had some motherboards with just the bare die and no heatsink at all, like the sandy bridge dell board in my HTPC

Other chipsets do need a heatsink and sometimes even active cooling.

Looking at you, 680i SLI boards...

How does mesh WiFi work?

The quick answer:

It uses a dedicated channel (usually on the 5GHz band) to send and receive data across the wireless network and for communication.

Hi all, this is my first post so be gentle.......I would like to see a tech quickie video done on the evolution/history of computer ports, a bit like was done with the PS/2 & USB that I've just watched.

The ports I would like to see in particular would be the firewire, DVi, eSATA, Thunderbolt, display port, HDMI and Internet Protocol Ports. Another great topic, for me anyway, would be something on what are port numbers and what do they do.....

Keep up the great work:D;):D

This has probably already been suggested, but Meltdown and Spectre.  I'm not sure that's a 2 minute video though.

Also NVMe/AHCI/PCIe/SATA explanations.

i saw you had a vid abt nuclear fusion earlier so was wondering if its even feasible to make one about large hadron collider, dunno just curious i mean right now quantum computers are being made with the sole purpose of recreating weather patterns so yeah a vid about the thing that tries to recreate and study the events in the universe would be nice? i guess? i dunno im not good at speaking....
