The most expensive thing you bought this year?

Probably not, but I have to finish it if that makes any sense. I've worked on this thing for long enough that I just want to be done with it and my compulsions can be sated

Sounds like a form of OCD - I can relate to that. But just remember that sometimes you have to say no to yourself when these things kick in. Especially if you can ditch the build part-way through, sell the parts that aren't compatible with a new system, and recoup a better investment in a new system.

For Sale: Meraki Bundle

iPhone Xr 128 GB Product Red - HP Spectre x360 13" (i5 - 8 GB RAM - 256 GB SSD) - HP ZBook 15v G5 15" (i7-8850H - 16 GB RAM - 512 GB SSD - NVIDIA Quadro P600)

I don't think anyone wants a SabertoothR2FX mobo, 9590FX CPU, or even an RX 590 GPU. Maybe the 32GB of DDR3 1866 RAM, maybe that. Also the GS 800 PSU from Corsair might get sold, but at this point I just want to finish building it and see how dumb this thing turns out to be

I even had to order Molex to fan connectors for my PSU to run the water pump.

But at least I'll finally have that 8 Core, RAID 10 Production PC I've always wanted.

Oh you’d be surprised what people will buy. You could definitely find buyers for the CPU, MB, RAM (sell all as a kit).

As for the GPU, no need to sell that - 590 is a decent GPU.

Aside from that, I’m just giving you a hard time :) I’m glad you were finally able to finish the build after so long.

-beauty snip-

What's the scale on that one?

Oddly enough... that's an Imperial I class Star Destroyer (you can tell by the cross pattern on the conning tower/sensor array thing on the bridge). Considered rare by the time of the OT - Imp II's were introduced 5 years before A New Hope, and Vader's Devastator was the last ship off the line in the Imp I series.

A bunch of Imp I's were also retrofitted to essentially be Imp II's.

So 43 inches long is 0.0010922 km long. An Imp is 1600 km long.

A bit of simple math tells us that the Model is 1:1.46 million scale xD (A "real" Imp class is 1.46 million million times larger).

Well if you end up buying it, you should create a build-log thread and post the results.

I dropped about 78k on a 2 year old Class A Motor home this summer. It is super nice and now that my twins are getting older I figured we would start taking a lot more vacation time. I have the ability to work remote and moved to a condensed work week that gives me 4 days off each week (salary ftw). So that plus the fact I get 32 Vacation days a year means we tend to travel a lot which is why I was less active on the forums the past few months :-D.

That being said the amount of diesel that thing burns and the cost to fill it up will be competing for the price of it in a few years lol.
