Dead RTX2080 ?

jedylan

Got a used RTX2080 to replace my GTX1080TI. When I switched the cards I got... nothing...

I can still get an image from the motherboard's output and, if I switch back to my 1080TI it works.

But the RTX2080 does not light up, fans do not spin and PCIE slot is empty in the bios.

I have removed and reinserted the card 5 times pressing harder on it every time.

bad luck. Dead it seems since even faulty memory only causes artifacting.

not sure why you would sidegrade to a 2080 in the first place.

That isn't a true sidegrade, but very close. A sidegrade would be 2070 Super. Regardless, maybe he values RT cores that much? The tech is being taken a little more seriously every day.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

Wall Of Fame (Informative people/People I like): @Glenwing @DrMacintosh @Schnoz @TempestCatto @LogicalDrm @Dan Castellaneta
