Can't see details/content on notitications.

My Huawei P20 Lite received the Android Pie update a month or so ago. What I've noticed is notifications lack any detail content whatsoever, mind you this has nothing to do with the lock screen, im talking about any notifications.

For example an app was updated by the play store and it would say "x app updated" but it simply says "1 notification" or if I get an email "1 new message". God knows what its about from first glance. Is it possible to set to to show the contents?
