GPU and CPU Bottleneck or not?

ckinfos

Hello, I have as stated in a previous post that i own an Asus GTX 1660ti OC Dual. Thought would be tha telperature for my problems but turn in that it is not.

My CPU is i5 (6th gen) 8500 with 16GB ram and Asus H170 PRO gaming Motherboard.IMG_20190722_200019.thumb.jpg.58d841a3feab55dc225e476376ad95f2.jpg

Due to the fact that in the current period i am continusly having freezes in games and less often in youtube i started logging the cpu and gpu behavior with an application Open Hardware monitor.

I am currently playing the Assasins creed unity, and World Of Tanks in 1920 resolution both of them Crash randomly and the screen freezes needing reset. In previous month i have been playing the World of tanks with the same graphics settings and witcher 3 at ultra. Did not have that freezing. I reinstalled drivers, games removed antivirus and tested the behavior is still freezing. I tested temps and for all the systems are as recomended to be...I play purposlely with full speed in fans to test. What i have noted is that the CPU on all cores....the usage is 100%! and the gpu is almost half or less. When i lessen the graphics levels the cpu seems to be at 95% usage on al cores and gpu steadily at the same previous %. IS THAT THE BEHAVIOR OF A BOTTLENECK from the gpu to the cpu? Is there any other test i need to perform for bottleneck? Is the combination i5 (6th gen) good for the gtx 1660 or need a more powerful processor for it?

The screen looks like this when it happens.

what i believe is happening is that you either have a ton of background software running or you have virus somewhere

try running your computer in safe mode and see if the problem goes away

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

1st of all thank you, I will try safe mode didnt think about it. Virus is checked and background programs are at minimal. (AV, nvidia) those existed too..when i was playing the previous weeks the witcher 3 and wot and did not have freezes at all for 8-9 hours of continue play! now in 1/2 hour and it breaks.

cpu is almost 5%(due to the av background scan) and gpu less than that.
