Good video editing laptop

hi all,

a couple of years ago I received really good input on this forum for a rig I needed to edit 4k video. well i'm back to dig into the advice mine once again.

i'm looking for a good workstation laptop (not a mac, please god no) that can do the same. I don't need it to be a finisher for projects, but something I can carry with me on set or to a location and use to import and do a basic edit, or to view the files I've shot. i'm the recent proud owner of a new Blackmagic design pocket cinema camera 4k, so I will be shooting braw files.

was looking at some options and I had contacted dell about a good 6 core machine with a radeon pro wx7130 gpu. I was also looking at their g series laptops and was wondering if da vinci resolve and premiere would run with a rtx2060, considering it's not on their compatibility lists. nvidia is also launching their studio line, but that's in the fall, I don't know if I can wait that long, and since i'm in india, I don't know if all models will be available with warranty.

any help would be much appreciated.

thanks gents/ladies/others.

I don't mind it being heavy. i'm looking for an athlete, not a super model (glares at a MacBook). this doesn't have thunderbolt though. I may need it if I have to do on set capture and edits. but the specs are insane. it's great for the price. even though it's not available in India, I can have it shipped here. only thing is the warranty. thanks for this though, it's definitely short listed.

weight no preference, but battery life should be moderate in case I don't have access to power. if could carry my desktop, I would. yes I am buying in india, so warranty etc and customer care should be there.

well, battery of even 2 hours is fine. budget would be between 1.5 and 2 lacs.

2070:

MSI GE63 9SF / 8SF

1070:

MSI GE73 8RF

2060/1660Ti:

Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-52

Lenovo Legion Y540 customize / 81SX00F1IN (don't update 28WW BIOS)

Azom Exigo (Clevo N960TD)

MSI GP75 9SE

Asus GL504GV

Asus G531GV / G531GU

Though personally I'll avoid Asus and MSI due to lower QC+QA than average

To achieve 2 hours of heavy editing the laptop will probably have to have a nice 8 to 10 hours of "office" use. That is usually the metric in reviews, so...

I don't do heavy editing with 4k raw, just simple 1080p, and in my case it blasts the battery really hard. A 5h office use becomes 1h battery.
