Laptop for my Sister!

Go to solution Solved by K i a r a,

holy nvm

lmao.

Hey, Looking for some suggestions for a laptop for my sister.

So, ill give ya a rundown.

Location: Canada

Budget: 1000$ Max before tax *Canadian Dollars*  (Also this doesn't mean try and max out the price, Cheaper around 600/700/800) Would be best. Also are going to be waiting for good sales to come on.

Usage: Internet, Backup photo storage, downloading ebooks, Videos and such. Longevity is important

Weight: She doesn't care, it's for at home she is currently using a 2010 Macbook pro so the thing is heavy. Also, don't care how thick it is.

Buying Location: She Does not want to order online, she wants to be able to check it out in person before buying, and yes I know you can return if you don't like it, but she doesn't want to go through that hassle.
Battery life: She also doesn't care, But 4 Hours + would be handy.
Screen Size: 15inch

Internals: Must have SSD (For boot) + HDD(For Storage). And be Intel.
Websites: http://walmart.ca , https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca , https://www.staples.ca/ Feel free to link some others and ill try to find them instore, but if I cant find em instore it will be kind of pointless.

From experience, Lenovo would be nice I have had good support with them. But suggest away!

This is what we are looking at so far.

idk what you mean at the start

Longevity, like keeping it for years, without slowing down but reliability is same same.

For example, if you wanted to buy a laptop, let's say Thinkpad E490, you can check it out in stores first, then customize and buy from Lenovo website

We just need a laptop that is available in store. that is it.

And one thats not going to overheat, and doesn't require undervolting or anything like that.

if not she is just going to go to the store and buy whatever one she think looks the niceet

Unfortunately undervolting is a must in laptops nowadays, unless you go for Ryzen laptops

Bit out of context but why is it that Ryzen does not need to be undervolted?
