pc upgrade

I have a i7 4790k on a z97 msi gaming board but I also have caused a bottle with my 1080 water cooled GPU.  If I only wanted to play Titanfall 2  and was struggling with the slow movement and poor aiming against much faster cpu's what up grade could I use to even the score!  What components are the best for this game?
