2700x with x370 or 3600 with b450?

I am upgrading our htpc because the tv is now 4k. the current cpu is an fx 8230e. The most i will do is play gta v on it. but that would happen maybe once every two months when certain friends are over. I have gpu that can handle it. But i am stumped if i should get zen 2with 8 cores or zen 3 with 6. they would he the same price

I would get the 3600, the single core performance jump is just that big.

I wouldn't bother with X370 boards and the 3600 is such a good step up, especially from a FX8320e.
