Windows 10 installation problems on NVME

Hi all, 

I am trying to install a copy of Windows 10 onto a 512GB Samsung 960 pro. I have formatted it and checked it on disk management, where it says that the drive is healthy. However once I try to install Windows onto it, the error code 0x80300024 comes up. Does anyone have a solution?

Are you putting the installation USB directly into the rear i/o?  I found out myself on a recent install to my server that USB hub was giving me this problem too, took me ages to work out what the problem was, lol

For some reason having the installation media in a USB hub was causing the error.... bear in mind that I have used that pc and USB hub multiple times in the past with no problems installing OS. I went through a laborious process of trying other USB drives, different OS etc etc.

No worries, hope you get it sorted.

Unplug/disable all your other drives first. Also, delete the partition and install it on unallocated space to allow windows to create the recovery partitions. 

 

If you've got the USB drive in a 3.0 port, you can also try moving it to a 2.0 port if you have one. Sometimes it doesn't play nice.

Unplug all other harddisks, SSDs etc except for the NVMe. If possible, plug the USB flash drive into a USB 2.0 port.

 

Try installing again. Simply remove the existing partition(s) on the NVMe, select the empty drive and click next. Windows setup will create all necessary partitions itself.

If all goes well, plug in the harddisks etc. again. Enter the BIOS, and make sure it's set to boot from the NVMe first.
