i don't see a question here? xd

an RTX 2080 is a little bit overkill for 1080p 144hz, you'll be fine with a 2070 or a 2060 depending on what games you play, 2080 is more aimed towards 1440p/4k or 240hz monitors

Can you wait 2 days? The new AMD cards are launching tomorrow and are a way better value. Once reviews are available you might want a 5700 XT instead.

Definitely don't buy a 2080, it's about to be discontinued. It's also overkill for 1080p.

What CPU is this gonna be combined with? Hopefully it's current enough for 144Hz gaming

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

You probably won't hit consistently 144 with that. It's got lots of cores but most games only use 4 of them, and the clock speed is pretty low. Buying the most expensive option rarely gets you the best performance in gaming.

I actually have a 1440p with RTX 2080 with a 1700x and it hits 144hz on the games that I really care about. With something like Rage 2 it averages around 90 FPS. Still taking advantage of the >60fps framerate and G-Sync.

I'm also interested in any recommended 1080p 144hz monitors. I'm planning to buy one for my brother in law.
