nvidias 7nm gpus coming in 2020?

SmolPPMan

hello, its my first time in this forum, and i was planning on buying a gtx 2070 super once it comes out for my rig. However i found on a youtube video nvidia is going to release a new graphics card lineup called ampere? Should i save my money and wait for 2020, or just buy a 2070 super?

Hi, welcome to the forum.

How much do you think is you current setup holding you back. Or how much does it bother you playing games? If you have no trouble with your current setup so far, just wait.
If you current setup causes too much trouble playing your favorite game, and you know that it is your GPU, then go for the new card :)

Just post what your current setup is, CPU, Mainboard, RAM, GPU and so on. So we can help you better ;)

I got a 1660 for my birthday, which i was planning to hand it down to my brother. I heard my 1660 wont hold up well in 2019 games, so i might upgrade.

Don't wait. There's 0 reason to wait. I understand people waiting for Zen 2 and Navi, but I see no other reason to wait after AMD releases everything along with Nvidias "super" cards. Buy now!

Ok, please post more information about your setup SmolPPMan. What resolution do you game on? And what CPU, Mainboard, Ram do you have. I think the 1660 is still good enough for 1080p gaming. I see no reason for upgrading at this time for you, when you just got a 1660 for your Birthday.

my 1060 holds up pretty decently in 2019 games and if not holding up well is the latest titles on max settings at 1440p to 4k yes the 1660 wont hold up well. don't go by what you hear go by what your experiencing and if you don't feel like your frame rate is enough for the games you are currently playing not the games you want to play in the future then upgrade. then in the future when a game comes out say cyberpunk 2077 and yhe 1660 can't handle it to the standards you want them to then you can look into upgrading. thats the way I evaluate things though.
