Hi! I think you should wait for the 3rd gen ryzen launch. Especially since this has an i7, get more bang for your buck.

*Imagine do you want to build a snowman music*

Do you want to build a PC?

I really do think that you should

It's cheaper, much more fun

And suited to your neeeeeeds!

Okay, I can't rhyme. Just build your own PC. It's really like Lego for adults, you save money and when something goes wrong, you don't have to deal with some dude that doesn't even speak any English trying to trelp you. You just fix it yourself.

And it's not difficult, we will basically hold your hand here.

THAT is your starter pc? what is your good pc going to be like?

that is no starter PC. that is a really really good pc.

a starter pc would be something like i5/r5 with 1650ti or something like that.

^^^ can do 1080p 60fps on high/max quality

I think you folks completely missed the point! The original poster doesn't sound as if they have the technical experience to build a PC hence the reason they are asking advice about purchasing a pre-built rig. SO... my response would be - purchase the best system with the latest hardware that your budget will allow. If you are an "entry-level" gamer then throwing $2000 on your first system is a bit silly. You may not even like gaming or be very good at it (like me). There are tons of relatively inexpensive new and pre-owned gaming systems out there that can help you save a lot of money. Do your research. shop around and DON'T EVER buy the first system you think is best. I guarantee you can probably find a better deal if you dig deep enough. A few rules of thumb I live by... If the deal sounds too good to be true - it probably is and more expensive doesn't automatically mean better. Educate yourself about the type of system you are going to need for what type of games you will be playing. There are a lot of YouTube Channels out there with very smart people who can help you find what you need and Linus is definitely a really good source for that very thing. Good luck

I think you missed the point of this forum. This is a "new builds" forum, the pre-builds is further down on the main page.

That being said

Have they played with Legos or built Ikea furniture? Can they read and work a mouse?

Then op can build a pc using one of the billions of youtube guides out there.

Also why start off with a pre-build as a "starter" what better time to build a pc than when you need one?

Also give us a budget, location, and what games you play and any other things you plan on doing with this pc and we can throw you a list of parts to buy along with their price.

Then you can just use one of these to help you build

The Verge also has a good PC build video, but I'd stay away from it. It's too advanced for beginners.

Ohh... that's the video I watched for making my first rig...

Wait a minute, I made my first rig back in 2001.

Lotsa wires? Sounds like you should have gone with an NVME drive.

A rig from 2001? Sounds like it's time for an upgrade.

NVME wasn't a thing back in 2001.

Was making a joke about the verge video's reasoning for going with NVME not actually telling what you should've done.
