thought it would be helpful to know on the forum index if the latest thread has bean locked.

I live in misery USA. my timezone is central daylight time which is either UTC -5 or -4 because the government hates everyone.

You mean newest threads? That has been asked before, as well as showing if they have been marked as answered. Both functions only serve thread snipers, and IIRC consensus was that we don't really like thread snipers.
