Is it still worth upgrading after a year.

My classmate asked he has a ryzen r5 2600 system and it's been a year and is it worth it for him to upgrade to a 3600? 

He uses it for esports gaming with a Zotac rtx 2080 twin fan

in short not worth upgrading.

fps increase will be very minimal, if he is not happy with current fps, get a even better gpu..?

With those specs I would say your friend should wait 1 or 2 years if not more. That PC is gonna be fine paying esport titles for at least 3 years.

No, less he can sell his current cpu for a decent price which won't be likely this close to the launch.
